logitect webcam driver help

I am trying to install the logitect webcam drivers for some reason it wont let me i have windows 7 64 bit i replace the webcam for a new one and it still wont work. All i get is a( logitect webcam software installation) and its blank something is stopping from loading it what do i do??

Hi,

A suggestion to get going:

1. Uninstall all webcam related software/drivers.
2. Plug in the webcam and see if Windows will attempt to assign a driver.

Let us know how it goes.

FYI, in some cases, older webcams (which worked fine with XP or Vista) will refuse
to work in Windows 7 due to driver issues. IMO, this is actually pathetic that the
consumer is forced to buy newer products just for a new operating system being
loaded on a new or old computer.

I have an old Epson Stylus CX4200 Inkjet and it works fine with 2000/XP/2003,
Vista and Windows 7 and I'll keep using it until it completely breaks down (at
which point, i'll buy a new printer/scanner unit).

Thanks guys for the reply, but my computer is 2 months old, this is the first cam i tryed to install, i had Logitech help by by bypassing it without useing the cd, but i still need to get it fixed, have anyothe suggestions??

Could it be a UAC permissions issue? Anti-virus scanning problem?

I would have expected a UAC popup message if that was involved, rather than the installation process just stalling. But just on a flyer you might try turning off UAC temporarily (if you normally run with it on/default).

Start -> Control panel - > User accounts and family safety -> User accounts

Then click on "change user account control settings", make a note of the current slider position (for getting back to this later), and pull the slider all the way down to "never notify". This will completely disable any UAC involvement with your current webcam driver install problem.

Then re-try the install of the Logitech software.

If this doesn't fix the problem, you can simply re-enter Control Panel etc. and push the UAC slider back up to where it was.

Just a thought.

P.S. - you do have the latest/correct 64-bit Logitech software installer file for you webcam I'm sure, right??
