Did you check in the crevice behind the desk?

Serious answer even though you got it sorted out: Open up disk management and assign drive letters to the drives/partitions.

    Start > type Disk Management

Damm that was a great trick.
I had the same problem, did what you told and gave my particion a leter "F:\" and in less than 1 second the windows found the drive and started working.
no needed to format or reinstall the windows.

good work and thanks again :)

I've got almost the same problem, My Partition got lost when i installed windows 7, i can see it though at disk management and it dosen't have a letter, but i cant give it a letter eighter, i get a message saying "The operation failed to complete because the Disk management console view is not up-to-date. Refresh the view by using the refresh task. If the problem persists close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer." i've tried this and stil dosen't work, ive tried all the other things said here too just not formated because i want the hard drive back with whats on it, work and school and movies.. Someone know what to do?

    lost partition

I recently tried to upgrade from vista ultimate to windows home premium. when I found it not working, I then bought a new hard drive and did a "custom "install on it. I finally got it working, but when I plugged in my old hard drive, (both satas), the old one only shows up with 1 of the 2 partitions in the computer. So... New hard drive and 1/2 of the old hard drive. the part that didnt show up has ALL of my program files and stored pics, etc. Help Please.
    Thanks
    T

The easiest way to regain a lost drive in windows :
    1. Right click on "my computer" and select manage.
    2. Select Disk management in the management console.
    3. On the menu select Action\Rescan Disks

Lost partitions should show up in the management console, where you can hide/unhide them - check them for errors etc.
