Problem with sound driver  

Hi, I just upgrade my pc from win xp to win 7, and it seems win 7 installed all my drivers automatically but not the sound drivers. I had problems with the sound driver back in the xp days too. My system detect my sound driver as via ac'97 enhanced audio controller all the time but the driver does not work. I downloaded this ( SoundMAX512015150.zip ) and it works fine for my xp. However, windows 7 is not compatible for that driver. So I got no sound.Please help me.

Please give us your system specs so we know what we are dealing with!

AMD sempron 3100+ 1.8GHz processor
ASUSTeK K8V-MX with VIA K8M400 chipset and VIA VT8237 southbridge motherboard
1.5GB DDR ram
nvidia GeForce 6200 128MB graphic card
running windows 7 ultimate 32bit

You may need to re-install the driver. It explains how and which driver to use here. VIA Technical Support FAQ - VIA Technologies, Inc.

got this problem fixed
actually just turn on the compatibility mode on the setup file and it install the driver
found instructions from one of the post in this site No drivers for SoundMax AD1888.
