Check the spec of the laptop to see what types of SD card are supported i.e. there are now at least 3 types available now with different speeds e.g. standard SD, SDHC, SDXC etc so make sure the one you are trying to read will work with your machine.

I found this: "Bridge Media slot (Support Media Type : SD Card, SDHC Card, MultiMediaCard)"
I insert a card and nothing happens..

OK so it supports SD and SDHC - if the card is of either type it should works. Is the card new and un-formatted ? If it is used and has files on it when you plug in a message should pop up saying "found new device" then it should become ready as a new drive letter. If nothing happens when you plug it in, the Bridge Media slot may need to be enabled in Device Manager (right click on my computer, manage, device manager) check if the device is present.

Hi again, I checked the spec of this machine and there is no mention of it having a card reader (unless I am looking at the wrong one) ? Just so I am clear, are you plugging the SD card into a slot in the machine or into your own card reader then plugging that into a USB slot ?. Please clarify and we'll take it from there....

OK, it must be on the side - anyway, when you plug in your SD card, you get no indication at all that anything is happening ? It should appear in the my computer window as a new drive letter - if not, go to start, control panel, add hardware, start the wizard and let it find any new hardware (do this with the card still in the drive). Hopefully it should find the device and automatically install it. If not, can you make sure your SD card has not become corrupted or something crazy like that by trying it somewhere else e.g. camera, etc. Let me know if any success.

Her's a link to the Toshiba drivers for the reader:

    Download Windows 7 drivers:

Check first that these are correct.
