Can't install Asus P5E chipset driver on windows 7 64 bit

Hello everyone,

First off all this is my first forum post here so please excuse me for any mistakes I make during this thread.

So lets get to the point.

I wanted to reinstall my computer with windows 7 64 bit and have downloaded and installed all my drivers.

The problem is that I have tryed installing a chipset driver for a Asus P5E motherboard. I've searched on the asus website for the correct driver. Which is rather easy since it automatically searches for your motherboard information. When I finished downloading I installed the driver and it completed kind of fast and it didn't tell me to reboot my computer which I think was odd... Eather ways when I completed the installation windows told me that the program was not correctly installed.

So I went into my device manager to see if there was any driver installed for my motherboard. Allthough sadly it showed me that there was an unknown device and no motherboard chipset driver installed.

And yes the driver was compatible for windows 7 64 bit
here's the link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P5E

I was thinking: would I need to do a bios flash first? If so where do I find a flash program for my motherboard manufacturer? I have already downloaded the .ROM file for my P5E motherboard but I can't seem to find a flash program to flash my BIOS with. I want to be absolutely certain that this goes well or I'll mess my pc up

Can anybody help me out here? I've been searching for quite some time now and really can't find a solution to my problem.

Does anyone know which is the latest Chipset Driver for the Asus P5K Mainboard ? Yes, i checked on the ASUS Website, and though they don't even have a WIN7 driver for that, the one they have for example for Vista would be very old. And I am sure that there is a newer Driver from INTEL. But I...

Chipset Driver for W7 Install Question
My daughter asked me if I could install W7 on her laptop for her. Doing due diligence, I proceeded to find out. She has a Compaq F767NR running Vista 32 bit. It meets minimum requirements. I will suggest a clean install. HP does not support this laptop for W7, and provides no W7...
