No Sound Coming out from Bluetooth Headset

    Hi,

I purchased a china-made Bluetooth headset that works perfectly on my phone, on my netbook (Dell Inspiron Mini - Windows 7 Starter) and my office laptop (HP Compaq running on Win XP). The problem is that it is not working on my other HP laptop (HP Compaq 6730B), wherein I really intended to use the Bluetooth headset as this is my personal laptop.

It looks like there is nothing wrong with the headset itself as it works with other computers.

The device pairing works well, the drivers were automatically installed and Windows said it is ready to use. I can see the headset in the audio devices. I can also see it from the mixer window. When I test it, I can see green bar coming up but no sound coming out from the headset. I also tried to do the following:

    1. Make the headset as the default audio device
    2. Download and installed WIDCOMM BT drivers
    3. Tried to upgrade the drivers from the driver details
    4. Remove and paired several times

I am running out of ideas of things to do.
I hope someone could help me with this problem. Thanks in advance.

    hi,

this might be a compatible issue, you have to make sure if your laptop is compatible with the bluetooth and vice versa. below, you will find the supported bluetooth for your HP laptop, it is the hardware id of the bluetooth:

USB\VID_03F0&PID_171D&REV_0100 made by Broadcom Corporation / USI.

    hope it helps

Thanks for your reply. I've managed to fix it. Looks like driver issue. I just updated my driver (to the compatible BT driver), restart my laptop and is now working. Previous BT drivers I have installed may not be compatible that's why it was not working before. :)
