SPTD (again)

I know this problem has been raised here and elsewhere (so I have looked)
I have SPDP.sys installed (by what I don't know)
Imgburn which I want to keep gives the warning

......SPTD driver may have detrimental effects on drive performance....

I had Daemon tools which I uninstalled and also have a basic version of PowerDVD that came with a Blu Ray reader.

What do you think:
1) Should I get rid of it?
2) If so what is the best way and do/how do I replace it with SPTI which I think is the Windows Driver?

Edit: I used the guidance here to disable the start registry entry and I'll see what falls in a heap.
More generally, do people live with SPTD.sys and is imgburn being a bit over cautious?

I suggest this to those that get BSODs because of Daemon
Freeware MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM(MagicDisc) Overview
If you do uninstall use the uninstall tool for SPTD

So you think Daemon is the culprit?
Does the SPTD driver need to be replace with anything else (doesn't appear to be so far)
Thanks for the tip - I'll try MagicISO.

Daemon and Alchohol 120%, which are virtualiztion software both use SPTd.
No need to replace the driver.
When you think that the driver is gone, after you use the uninstaller.
Go to search
type
cmd
in cmd type
driverquery
and make sure its gone.
