Need to reinstall windows generic driver

Hi, I have an acer Aspire 5735z with windows 7

My sd card worked fine untill I clicked on the "Safely Remove Hardware" Windows button before ejecting my SD card and I have had problems ever since with windows detecting the device.

In a final effort, I have removed the driver in the device menu thinking that windows would detect and reinstall.

    It will not.

If you could please direct me to the driver, I promise to never press the safely remove button again.

yeah seems they only released vista drivers for that laptop.

Try setting this for the moment.
    To Disable Selective Suspend:

    open the control panel
go to power options (you may have to set view to small icons)
    click change plan settings
    in the window that opens:
    click change plan settings
click change advanced power settings, expand usb and ensure usb selective suspend is disabled.

and I'm going to see if I can find you individual component downloads for the laptop that are properly win 7.

Problem I this machine came with vista64
I would recover to that plus I'm not so anxious to reinstall windows It takes a long time.
Not just reinstalling but resetting up everything and sometimes losing some things.

Should also mention that Since in stalling win 7, acer utils no longer work.. I don't miss them. i I don't plan to recover back to vista anyway.

Only part I sort of miss is in the last update the onscreen volume bar when using the buttons at the top disappeared.. they still work, I just have to click on the speaker to see the vol move there.

okay install this for the graphics

    audio
    Realtek
I believe the top one is the right one let me know if it refuses to install ... and don't try to force it.

    Using this should update bluetooth.
    Broadcom.com - Bluetooth Software Download

attached will hopefully update your marvel lan driver.

the card reader driver is on realtek's site and was too large to attach.

(USB card reader driver for XP/Vista/Win7)

Acer unfortunately stopped driver support at vista for your laptop and while those drivers may function they are very problematic.

anyhow if you take care of that I think you'll find 7 runs much better on that machine.

Thanks for all the searching.. I really only need the SD card driver.
Before I posted here, I did some searching and had already tried the realtec drivers on that site. Not one of them worked.
I thought they would be the ones too.
I appreciate all the searching. I may need those other drivers again if I wind up doing a reinstall.

What I could try is getting my win 7 DVD and doing a repair.. just that It may not work well with all the windows updates that have been released and even if it does, I have my doubts that it will fix anything.

That attached set up file.. what exactly is that?

If this comes up for someone else.. I don't believe this computer actually has a Blue tooth chip.. it has the button but that is all. I tried different methods and No chip has ever been detected.

Factory origional, the wireless Draft N never worked. Quite some time ago, i searched for drivers and did get it working. I think what I did was found a firmware update somewhere.. kinda got lucky as it wasn't actually for my model laptop.

Those driver problems will remain for you with win 7 if we can't find them though.
did you ever disable selective suspend?

I did to the suspend settings, they are "off" both on battery and plugged in.

It was an interesting thought that the driver might not load properly after suspend or power saving but does not appear to be my problem.

I think that when I ejected my media, windows set the drive as inactive somewhere. If I still had the drivers installed, possibly could look for the setting in the registry, however now that that driver is not installed and It is not even detected to reinstall. I think I have to find drivers.

Too bad there isn't a standard that all manufacturers could follow.. usb seems to have come a long way from its flakey beginnings. I see allot of people with SD problems. There might be even more but many people never use their sd. I however have quite a few sd card devices.

AddThere is nothing to update even in the hidden devices
Also any usb devices I try to update, report back that they are up to date.
In addition adding new hardare does not find any new hardware and scanning for hardware changes does not find anything new.
The realtec card drivers say they have installed properly, but they do not appear to do anything.

Have tried the system restore .. looks like all the restore points are newer even with show more restore points option. No It did not work
