    Roccat Kone+ ruined my computer

Ok, so just last week I bought me a new computer to play games on.
I plugged in my brand new Roccat Kone+ and started using it. It worked like a charm.
So today I decided to install the their driver to optimize my mouse and all that.
I first downloaded their latest driver (V1.45 / FW1.40). But when the download finished I apparently didn't have all the required files to install the driver so I needed to download the torrent again.
This happened a lot of times and eventually I decided rather to download the 2nd newest driver (V1.44 / FW1.39).

This torrent had all the files it needed to be install and I immediately I installed it.
I ran the setup with the Roccat Mouse connected to the computer (I didn't find out that I where supposed to do that without the mouse connected to the computer).
So when the installer was finished the mouse stopped working.
The LED lights turned themselves off and... yeah... it pretty much stopped.

I tried to restart my computer a number of times, but it didn't work.
I've been to Device Manager and it says that my mouse is located by the computer, but just not working.

So I hooked up another mouse to the computer to see if the problem lies in the mice or it's driver itself, but that mice didn't work any better than the Kone did.

I went to get my laptop (Windows Vista) and plugged in the Kone there, but no it didn't work their either. But the odd thing is that my 2nd mouse worked on the laptop.

And on my new computer I've reinstalled the driver a bunch of times, but it just won't fix it.

Is there anyone that can help me solve this problem?
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Sincerely
    A Scandinavian in need.

Why did you download a torrent file to get the driver? Did you try going to the manufacturers web site for the driver?

I would de-install all of your mouse installations, un-install the mouse itself in Device Manager, reboot the pc and let W7 find it..

And NEVER use some torrent supplier for your drivers... ONLY go to the manufacturer of the HW for corresponding drivers.

As you could have malware that came along with your torrent... check that too with Malwarebytes.

This more than anything. Even more so when you consider that there is also a firmware update included with the driver,

    ROCCAT STUDIOS V3.0

If uninstalling as MvdB suggested doesn't work, try doing a system restore to before you installed the driver. From the sounds of it the driver has done something to Windows seeing as another mouse won't work, and the firmware update borked the Roccat mouse seeing as you say it won't work on another computer either. If the firmware update did mess up the mouse itself, then you're going to have to contact Roccat about that one,

Well, I downloaded the driver from ROCCAT STUDIOS V3.0 (their website).
And me calling it a torrent is my fault, I couldn't find a proper word for it.

I've also contacted Roccat support and I've ran a System Restore.
    Nothing helps.

    What is "MvdB"?

Sorry mate, I'm just a bit down after this thing....

Oh joy, I've just found out that my 2nd mouse works on the computer now (after all the actions I've done).
So the problem then lies in the Kone itself. And I will call customer support to the place where I bought it.

And wait for one of the slaves at Roccat to reply to my post on their forum.

Thank you all for your help so far :)
