Trying to connect a Lego NXT Brick to My Laptop via Bluetooth

Hello, first post, hopefully not the last post.

Anyway, the laptop I am using is an Acer Aspire 5251. The website said bluetooth is built in. So on to trying to connect: I go to "Add a Device" and search for Bluetooth devices while I turn on the searching mechanism on my NXT Lego brick. However, my laptop is unable to find it. I know the brick's bluetooth is working fine because it was able to connect to my iPod and even an outdated flip phone. To you NXT owners: what can I do? I will give additional information if inquired.

EDIT: I feel like this is the wrong sub-forum, so please inform me if it is.

Nah, the forum is fine, if needed the admins will move it.
    Welcome to Seven Forums.
I'm not Bluetooth literate but I know in Device Manager it should show up in its own category or Human Interface Devices maybe. Does the brick have any install media with it? I don't know what that is either.

Slim Divers might help you find a driver for the Bluetooth device. Be aware that it sometimes is buggy and will show drivers for non-existent hardware.

Can you connect your laptop via bluetooth with your iPod for example? Does that work? If it works, then it isn't a driver issue, if it doesn't, then it is a driver issue.
