Need major help!! Hey, you've guys have help me before it worked wonder, but I'm in desperate need of help once again. I recently installed windows 7 on my compaq presario v6000 and it won't connect to wireless, let alone search for a network... the laptop acts like it doesn't have a wireless card which leads me to believe that I'm missing the driver for it. I downloaded slim driver for it to fix it, but when it comes to installing the "hp integrated bluetooth module I get the message you need to turn on bluetooth for it to install, I've tried everything to turn/find what it is I need to turn it on.
I'm going on a cruise in about 48 hours and need to bring the laptop for it to do work. Any answers are appreciated. | My System Specs |

Is the wireless switch at the front of your laptop switched on?
To help you search for drivers we need your system specs.
Have you checked HP's support page for drivers? Your wireless card would be a start, but check the link I gave you for HP and do a search on the Compaq Presario for drivers. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion Elite 495UK OS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-Bit CPU Intel Core i7 870 @ 2.93GHz Motherboard MSI 2A9C (CPU1) Memory 8Gb Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 664MHz Graphics Card nVidia GeForce GTX 460 1024MB dedicated RAM Sound Card Realtek HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays HP2310i Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard Logitech K750 solar-powered keyboard Mouse Logitech Wireless M180 mouse PSU 460W Case HP Elite Cooling Air cooled Hard Drives 1x1954GB Hitachi HDS22020ALA 330 (RAID), 1x1954GB Hitachi External for backup and storage Internet Speed 2Mb Other Info Pure Avanti Flow Internet Radio with iPod Dock, 64Gb iPod, HP USB Speakers, Sony MDR-V500 Headphones, Sony Vaio F-Series Laptop |

How would I go about finding out which one i have? For the link, I've tried that and after running the wireless driver it doesn't do anything. | My System Specs | | OS 64 bit, wndows 7 home premium |

Do you mean this slimdrivers? If you are using it, uninstall it asap. This kinda all-in-one solutions usually dont work well. Here is a download page, visit it and select your notebook from the list (Show all). Choose your OS eg. windows 7/Vista (nothing means 32 bit), open the network drivers menu and then download what you find. I suggest you to install them all exp ect the "HP Wireless Assistant".
Now reboot and try your wifi.
Looking fwrd to your results. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built PC OS Windows 7 Enterprise x64 no SP CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz 36°C Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
