Windows 7: Troubleshooter error

Hello all,

I have recently installed Windows 7 on a 2nd machine and all went well except that the trouble shooter gives me an error which prevents me from using many of the functions including specifically compatibility mode and reconnecting to my network adapter when it fails. This is the text I get with the error:

An error occured

An error occured while troubleshooting:

Validating the integrity of the troubleshooter failed.

I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this posting, but I would appreciate any help or insight that you could provide.

thanks for filling out your system specs.

Are you having network issues? could you go into event manager (type event manager into search) and check if there are any errors relating to this. If there are could you use the snipping tool (snipping into search) and upload it for us?

This is what I found:

It a badly registered dll file the cause and cure are here Error message when you try to use the Windows Update or Microsoft Update Web sites to install updates: "0x800B0100".
