HP LaserJet 1100 Windows 7 x64 w/ Parallel Port to USB

    I am running Windows 7 64bit.

I have an HP LaserJet 1100 connected to USB via a Parallel Port to USB cord.

    (something like this: http://www.gizmobyte.com/product-ima...-par-25p-l.jpg )

I have tried installing the printer with Add Printer and the 1100 is on the list. I install it, try to print something and then in the Devices and Printers window, the printer shows the yellow exclamation point above it.

Anyone have the same problem, anyone know a solution?

    Thanks

You need a Win7-64 driver for the adapter you show.

I used a centronics/parallel to USB adapter to connect my Brother HL-1230 laser printer to my Windows 7x64 PCs USB port. Didn't need a driver for the adapter, just the printer. I had to use a windows Vista 64 bit driver for my printer, but it works fine. You'll have to see what the error message is that goes alone with the yellow !.

EDIT: Mine actually has a centronics port connector on it not a DB25 parallel port connector and plugs directly into my printer. Same thing but different.

If your sure everything else is correct. Go to Control Panel/Devices and Printer and make sure your printer is checked. If it isn't right click on it and you will find what is needed. Set as default printer
