I'm out of ideas, I'll refer you to another troubleshooter here I work with a lot he often catches things I miss and vice versa.
Give him some time to respond I don't know what his schedule is like these days.
Thank you for all your help and time, I really appreciate it, and for refering me to your friend. I hope he may be able to help me in some way.
Thanks again.
No problem I get really frustrated in these circumstances myself so I'm glad to see you keeping your cool :)
Well thats one way to put it "keeping my cool".. haha ive been very very frustrated this is the first time ive came across this time of problem.. very annoying hehe :)
Ringzano Hi and welcome
My collegue Maguscreed asked me to take a look at your problem. He is correct (of course) that this is a video subsystem TDR.
In the DMP files uploaded your atikmdag.sys driver is dated July 2009. As you noted it is the generic windows driver.
I have one thing I suggest you try. I would run the system readiness tool and then update to SP-1. The video drivers (generic) ones in SP-1 have many bug fixes. If that doesnt fix it we can go on from there
* Download > Install > Run the System Update Readiness Tool
Ensure you install the correct 64 or 32bit option for your system)
Download the System Update Readiness Tool (64bit)
Download the System Update Readiness Tool (32bit)

hi, do i download the readiness tool and the x64 readiness tool or just the x64 one? well im downloading the x64 one now anyway.. thank you
so it is right that im only installing one thing yes? as it is installing now the x64 the 2nd link you gave me
well i installed the x64 hotfix and still crashed.. im thinking its the resolution that its trying to run when it starts that does it maybe.. because it works fine in a lower resolution when no drivers are installed.
See this is the problem, the ATI video driver is failing.
So of course the problem doesn't occur when the driver does not load.
I don't think the resolution is a factor for some reason a driver I have seen no reported problems (outside of minor in game graphic glitches) that I know of.
I suppose we can try installing a slightly older driver.
Previous ATI Catalyst
choose the individual downloads tab there. Then download just the display driver. (it's a version from a little earlier this year) and we'll see if a different recent driver will install correctly for you.
