Nvidia drivers 280.26 clinging onto my computer like a virus

I recently installed this driver: NVIDIA DRIVERS 280.26 WHQL (all 5 components)

Now after installing it, I noticed I could not play files that need realalternative anymore. I proceeded by doing a system restore, thinking it will revert back to the status with the old driver installed again.

After the system restore reboot, I immediately got different dll.exe errors... Turns out that this (all 5 components) is still somehow 'installed' on my computer, although my old driver is also working as I could play realalternative stuff again.

I tried then to uninstall the nvidia 280.26 drivers with add/remove, but nothing happened by clicking on them. Then I tried Revo Uninstaller Pro, which could not get rid of it any of the 5 components, because it could not start the built in uninstaller... all I could do was a forced uninstall, which basically meant deleting stuff from registry and files in the nvidia folders. That does nothing, as the stuff is still on my computer and causing annoying errors during every boot up.

What to do? Reinstall everything and then try uninstalling again? Why is it clinging onto my computer

Thanks, but did not work. Installed it, found nine files, I selected them all to be deleted, but then it says no files deleted... it can''t delete them... wth are these drivers, it's worse than a virus.

Doing a system restore likely messed up the uninstaller. If you can undo the system restore and then try uninstalling them. Another option is to run the installer again for the 280.26, then try uninstalling them one more time. Re-installing them may fix them so they will uninstall OK.

I've had similar problems and used a little program called "everything" to find where/what is installed, then deleted from there. Google it, it's tiny and unobtrusive and comes in handy for things like you are experiencing.
