    sis760 video + Windows 7 + Samsung Kies problem

I recently found that my Win 7 PC was only running Microsofts own default VGA video drivers.
My video is SiS760 on board so I downloaded the only drivers I could find but they were for XP.
On installing I found that whilst everything else seemed as good or better than before when booting Samsung Kies (Samsung Galaxy support software) that the program gave a mixture of readable, distorted and broken display.
If I reinstalled Kies there was no change and the problem was still there. It only went when I reverted to Windows generic video drivers.
Can anyone tell me if there is a correct Win 7 driver for the on-board SiS760 graphics device anywhere as I have hunted and cannot find one.
I have also found that using the generic driver the (atrocious) Windows media player 12 does not allow me to change the brightness/contrast/speed options which I was also hoping would be cured by the correct driver.
As this PC came to me as a 'dumper' when the previous owner screwed up a Windows 7 install I'm not sure if it ever had anything other than the default windows drivers for video.
I don't need a mega fast video card as this PC simply controls and reads data from workbench test gear so I'm not going shell out dosh to stick another card in but it would be nice to have full use of WWP12 as it's apparently not possible to downgrade to WMP11.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Unfourtanently,

You are not going to find a Windows 7 driver for this graphics chipset.
The last release SiS made for that chipset was for 32-bit XP, which meant the laptop you have originally had 32-bit XP on it, and someone tried a Windows 7 upgrade to it (as you said).

If you want full use of the card, reinstall Windows XP on it. That's the only option i'm afraid.

Hello masterice and welcome to the forum.
Did you try installing that driver in Compatibility Mode I wouldn't expect a miracle but it may help.
