I use these with no problem (notebook)...

If you're on 32bit go here...
GeForce Release 179

64bit go here...
GeForce Release 179

You might need to run the installer in vista compatibility mode or as admin but they work fine here.

Almost same Problem here (Samsung R560 Geforce 9600m GT)
No driver in Windows Update, but if I click the "Search Driver online" Button in the device manager it finds and installs correct drivers... Only Problem is: Windows won't start anymore! Just when the welcome screen should appear the notebook reboots

hrmmm....i really have no clue what to do...what really has me curious is...when you have a graphics card under the standard windows drivers should it not register how much memory the card actually has? ie 256 or 512? mine says i have 14mb lol

Everest tells me the same, 8bit, 14mb... But Windows obviously knows it's a 9600! Doesn't it install any drivers if you let windows check online when updating the driver in the device manager?

Okay, perhaps another solution for you:

Get this driver:
RapidShare: Easy Filehosting

And mod it with the NV modtool:
NVIDIA Mobility Modder - DriverHeaven.net

Installed it without Problems, but as I said before: reboot loop here.

Good Luck!
