W7 64 bit sharing a XP 32 bit printer

I've been playing with W7RC, first in 32 bit, now in 64 bit. In 64 bit I hit a problem with printing to a HP5380 attached to a 32 bit XP Pro machine. I could see the printer, install it, but every time I printed it would fail and often crash the spooler on the XP machine.

This didn't happen when using W7RC 32 bit.

The problem was obviously the drivers. The solution to replace the 64 bit drivers with 32 bit drivers turned out to be a bit tricky. First I had to remove the 64 bit drivers (Devices and printers>print server properties (only appears after you select a printer)>drivers) then install the 32 bit driver from the HP cd, then install the shared printer, which now picks up the 32 bit driver instead and works fine.
