Drivers For New Computer with Windows 7 64

Well I just finished building my first computer and was happy ( and a little surprised) that everything seems to be working fine. Even without installing any drivers that came with my components.

The Asus P6T motherboard comes with a disk for chipset drivers and my GTX video card also has a installation disk. Not to mention a new logitech mouse and new keyboard.

All these things seem to be working fine at the moment and device manager shows no problems with anything installed. Is Seven so packed full of drivers that I don't need to bother with these disks or should I run them anyway or just leave things alone?

Thanks

If it works, don't fix it.

My install goes pretty much the way you have described, except for a RAID controller add-on card. Everything works quite well, with one exception.

The Windows driver for my ATI HD3850 does not have an overscan function. When using my 24 inch monitor, not a problem. When using my 46 inch monitor, the screen image does not occupy the available screen space. So, I have to enable overscan - available only by installing ATI Catalyst Suite. I do not have to run CCC - just fire and forget.

Again, if it works, tweak it until it doesn't. I mean, don't fix it.

Besides, your Asus/other disk does not have any Windows 7 drivers. Vista drivers are commonly OK.

Antman,

I'm going to take your advice and leave things as be. Unless something doesn't seem to work right I won't bother with the driver disks. It would seem Seven must have lots of drivers built in the OS.

Thanks
