    Intel 845 video driver

Intel ended support for this device after XP release, neither vista or windows 7 will work with this device , it will set the resolution up to 640x480 and you cannot change it, so don't try to install it on this oldie adapter.

    my two cents.

Actually that is wrong information, I have Intel 845 adapter and I can view resolutions from 640-480 all the way to 1280-1024 .

    Try using my tutorial:

Install 855GM Series Video Driver on Windows 7 - Tutorial

The drivers should work OK for you but there is a specific procedure to follow. Tell me the results. A lot of people got it to work.

    Thank you lexxion!

    Wow!

It was a lot of hoops to jump through, but that tutorial worked!

I've tried everything else, with no go. So I THANK YOU!

Now if I could only figure out how to make this thing rotate to Portrait orientation when it's in Tablet mode. Not even a Screen Rotate option in Windows Mobility Center.

Good news -- got Rotation working

Okay, I worked on it for several hours last night, and I was able to enable rotation on my tablet PC with 855GM!

I'm writing a blog post now, and I'll link it if people are interested.

EDIT: Rather than repeat myself in the 3 threads this pertains to, here's a link to the thread where I link the blog post and the rest of the story.

I did not experience this behavior before. You have to make sure to follow the steps exactly and do not use any boot loaders/ bios patches etc.

In order to restore your settings boot Windows 7 DVD and instead of install Windows 7 do 'repair PC' or something similar. You will have different options available.
