Apparently they had published for some boards before but it looks like they updated for many if not all of them now

Yeah, just noticed that today when I went to look for chipset drivers. Thanks for the heads up.
So we should be using these even if windows 7 finds the hardware itself?
They have had Win7 drivers for the sound cards for awhile now. Too bad you still need the patch from the Vista page before the drivers will work.
Asus finally made Win7 drivers for the Asus Xonar sound cards even though the Vista ones worked pretty well. One small problem was that the drivers were made only for the RC build 7100.
If you installed the new Xonar drivers made for Win7 it would lock up IE and most of the control panel was completely messed up as well. The drivers were only meant to work with the officially released version of Win 7 at the time which was the RC build 7100. Of course by then everyone was already using a newer build.
I figured out which file was causing he problem and wrote a brief tutorial on how to delate that file which made everything work again with full sound card funcitionality.
About two days later Asus came out with a patch for Vista which, according to the directions, was to fix some compatiblity problems with certain games. The patch said nothing about the fix for Windows 7 but when you installed the patch it would fix the problems with the Win7 Xonar drivers. No delation of files was needed.
The patch that fixes the Windows 7 drivers resides at the top of the Vista page for Xonar drivers.
The Windows 7 Xonar drivers are on a completely different page.

Just go there and put in what you have and it will take you to the right page. They have everything for Asus there. It's the same link that is already posted at the top of this page.
Just go to the download section and tell it what you need. The pages open very slowly there so it's a waiting game.
Once you get to the download page just select your product, series and model, after that it will show you an option for Op system then finally the downloads for your product will be visable. It's a slow process but it works. The files are usally .rar so you also need winrar to extract them.
