    sony vaio function keys driver

    hi everyone,,,,
I bought a new sony vaio laptop and its model is VPCEH25EN. I have installed windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, after installing it, installed the drivers which i found in the site sony-asia.com. So my problem is that my function keys are not working. So could anyone tell where can i get the drivers for function keys. I will be very greatful if anybody helps me out.

Sony is very good about putting ALL the drivers needed for all the hardware on their site.

So the driver for the function keys is there. But depending on the model there can be as many as 40 or more installer files!

It took me all evening to download them all, burn a DVD with them and then install them to restore custom hardware functionality after I also wiped and installed a clean Win7. (Of course I left off the bloatware )

So it's surely on the site if you go to the section for your exact model. The only hard part may be that the driver will not say "Function Keys Driver" but will have some compeltely cryptic name like "HWInstaller2"

I would DL everything and install everything but the obvious bloatware. At some point you will find your keys magically start working... (I'm sorry that I don't remember the name of the exact file that got my keys working, but if your laptop was a different model than mine then the driver may be different too)

I have a completely different model. I would pick the closest one on the site, see if it matches yours in looks and features.

As far as what driver... Could be something under "Notebook control and utilities" or possibly "System components" As I said before, the buttons are just one little thing that's probably wrapped up in some other big driver. I don't remeber which one, just that after installing all the drivers minus the bloatware stuff they worked.

I don't know what your model looks like/what fetures it has, your going to have to decide that yourself. Put your model in, it says it cant find it but brings up a list of "nearby" models. Go through those to see if they match yours, then DL the drivers and install them. There's nothing else I can do without having the laptop sitting here at my desk
