Is it possible to force-install drivers that are for other plattaforms

Basically, I'm trying to install the usb drivers for the SB5100 modem.
It seems they don't exist and my OS just refuses to use the drivers intended for Vista..
I came across this forum thread
Motorola sb5100, can it work with W7?
But since it's old I still have hope..
Any help would really be appreciated..

Didn't work..

Well, I did what the tutorial said, and now it says it says I have to reinstall the drivers, but I can't cause it says I have the best driver software installed..

Thanks guys for the help! I guess some hardware just isn't compatible with Win7.. So the only solution to my problem that I have in mind is dual booting Vista and Windows 7.. I really appreciate the help you guys gave me!

For whatever reason, in Win 7 64 bit, my AMD Radeon HD7770 HDMI shows as "High Definition Audio Device" (the generic Microsoft drivers) rather than "AMD High Definition Audio Device". I have the same hardware and drivers on a dual boot (separate hard drives) on Win 8 and it shows as "AMD High...

Force W7 update all drivers
Hello, I posted this here because the "drivers" section seems to be used primarly for requesting drivers. I actually don't have a problem with drivers, but in how windows detects hardware and finds appropiate drivers. Because sometimes I have many computers at a time to fix, I wondered if there...

Force Install Drivers?
Does anyone know how I can force install AMD 11.6 Mobility drivers for an unsupported card? AMD's normal installers haven't been updated for my card (6750M) and as a result the installer just skips the driver install part. Can I just use the Windows driver installer and manually locate the driver...
