Problems with new windows 7 install

Hi I have 3 Problems since I installed windows 7 ultimate. Am at my wits end. Please help. Problem 1 my Logitech wireless key board is acting crazy. When typing if I try to use a combo of words and numbers when I hit a numer key all I get is a repeat of last letter that I typed or nothing at all. This happens only when I use the numbers on the top of the main keyboard. If I use the number pad at the right of the keyboard I can print the numbers. If I hit the shift ket to try and use the simbles at the top of each key I get eather the last letter I typed or nothing. Problem 2 I have on board sound on my Asus M2A-VM mother board which is Realtech Hd sound. All I get out of it is hissing, poping and scratching sound. According to the the device manager the drivers are fine and it is working fine. I have down loaded tryed the drivers that the realtech site says should work but dont. Problem My graphics card is not working as it should. When I check it in the device manager It tells me windows has stopped this device because it has problems code 43. Yet if I try to update the driver it tells me that it already has the right driver installed. My PC is configured as dual boot XP and 7. When I go back and boot back to XP every thing works as it should. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regarding sound, problem 2:

Don't go to Realtek--the Realtek driver may not have the customization necessary for compatibility with the Asus motherboard. Asus would be the best source for integrated sound on an Asus motherboard.

Go to Asus and find the downloads section for your particular motherboard. Download the latest Windows 7 sound driver from there---64 bit or 32 bit, whichever you have.

Uninstall existing Realtek drivers and reboot before you install the new download.

Likewise, go to your graphics card manufacturer and Logitech to get latest drivers for those pieces.

Hi tried to do as you said. but as soon as I remove the audio driver It tells me to restart the PC. Thats ok except as soon as it restarts windows installs the driver again. I cant install the driver I got from Asus. So I installed the asus driver anyway but still have nothing but noise. Is there any way to shut down the audio all togeather and then install the driver and reopen the audio?

Have you tried "update driver software" from Device Manager in the "sound, video, and game controllers" section?

Right click on the Realtek driver in that section.

Driver installation can be frustrating, so you may have to try multiple methods--disable, uninstall, reinstall, reboot, etc etc. Keep pounding at it.

Yes I have. Installed the asus audio driver multiple ways. As concerns the key board operation
I even switched keyboards and still got the same results. Is it possiable I need to reinstall windows?

You could try an old System Restore point to a date prior to the beginning of these problems if you have such a restore point.

I can't help you with the graphics card or wireless keyboard issues.

Obviously, a clean install may well solve your problems. Whether it's your best choice is your call. But if you had these problems immediately with your fresh install of Windows Ultimate, it may not do any good.

You might try a post in the graphics section about the graphics card and another post in the hardware section about the wireless keyboard.
