    ECS k8m800-m2

hi, my friend's motherboard is ECS k8m800-m2.. he is using onboard audio and video.

he installed windows 7.. he got the audio drivers from the motherboard site, and it worked fine.

but for video, the drivers do not work...

heres the mobo site: ECS Web Site

i managed to find chipset drivers for him, and they seemed to install just fine.

im just wondering if he should just go back to windows xp? or is there someway to make the drivers work in windows 7?

Try installing the VGA driver ( V16.94.44.29) in compatibility mode with xp - as the driver is wriitten for xp you install it in compatibility mode with XP that is if the driver wont install normally :

To install a driver OR program in compatibility mode - right click the setup.exe file - click properties - click compatibility - check run in compatibility with vista/xp etc - check run as administrator - leave the rest blank. Start setup.exe and install.

ah, sorry should have mentioned that we tried that. at first we did not, and it would say wrong os or something like that.. then in compatibility mode, it would actually start up, but then it would say no compatible hardware found.

Have you tried Windows update and letting Windows 7 install a driver for you?
