    Precisely. The same thing can also apply to certain vendors, such as Dell, Sony, etc, who fail to update their download support pages, despite newer drivers being available from the actual hardware manufacturers.

    Driver Genius will first identify the existing drivers, if it sees that it has the latest on then it wont recommend an older version. Its quite good. But as I said, it will only be useful to someone who needs it.

    You are correct by saying that Windows 7 is great for detecting the correct drivers :)
