Completely agree - Windows is good enough at finding appropriate drivers if you do not install the drivers from the manufacturer.

I disagree. There has been many occasions where I've not been able to find a driver for Windows XP and Driver Genius has found them for me (saving me loads of time).

I'm an IT Engineer though so the need is there for me to have software that can save me time on site etc. For home use or for a PC that already has drivers installed then no, there isnt any point in having it.

The risk that I found with using products like this is not that they can't find the current drivers, but that they will try to install an OLDER driver -- if that is all they can find. Like others, I've found the combination of Windows Update and hardware manufacturers to be the best combination for keeping drivers current.
