USB - Swithing from RDP to local

I have my computer connected to a KVM switch. If I switch between computers, the USB keyboard and mouse will work. If I switch to the computer, and RDP to the windows 7 computer, then disconnect and switch at the KVM, the keyboard and mouse no longer work. Even if unplug the USB and re plug back into the computer.

I Notice that the generic USB HUB and the composite are missing from device manager when I connect via RDP.
Any help is appreciated
TIA
