    Network Controller missing driver

Ive just completed a format/reinstall of Win 7. Before the wireless was working absolutely fine, afterwards I cannot even detect an available connection. I can connect to the internet on the computer via an ethernet cable though.

If I go to control panel and look at the hardware, there is a 'network controller' with a yellow triangle indicting a problem. Upon searching for drivers on the internet I am informed that a driver is installing but then I get a message saying that the issue was unable to be fixed.

The issue is identical to this thread Help: Network controller doesn't have a driver. except that my hardware id is different. On that thread some nice person indicted the correct driver based on the id's he posted, but I have no idea how to do this. In properties, my hardware IDs are:

    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0023&SUBSYS_3079168C&REV_01
    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0023&SUBSYS_3079168C
    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0023&CC_028000
    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0023&CC_0280

    Any help is much appreciated

    Uninstall your wireless drivers

Honestly it would just be easier to download the latest driver for your wireless network device, the uninstall the driver and reinstalling it

That ID is for an Atheros AR5008 Wireless Network Adapter.

I would check the computer manufacturers web site for the latest driver.

    the Atheros AR5008

I didnt check to see what Network Adaptor that ID went with. The Atheros AR5008 is a tricky bugger ive had it on two of my laptops each with different Operating systems and what ive personally found is that experimentation works best to find a driver that works for your OS appearantly all the drivers in the AR5xxx series are compatable with the AR5008 but the specific driver for the AR5008 isnt compatable with say Windows XP 64 bit. But the AR5xxx is. I would try that driver and go from there.
