I have upgraded from XP Home 32bit to Windows 7 64bit, clean install of Win 7. I have installed my Canon MP620 printer from the installation CD. In device manager under 'Portable Devices' there is an error (Triangle) shown as 'WPD Filesystem volume driver
' The installed drivers
Under General tab the message 'This device cannot start (Code 10)' is shown.
When I disconnect the printer the error message disappears.
I have uninstalled then reinstalled the drivers from the supplied CD M1.1 QH7-3543-01 and still had the same problem. I went on line to the Canon download section and downloaded MP620svst64101ej driver file which was listed as support for 64 bit OS, but on installation was advised I had a later driver already installed.
Windows also reported the current drivers as being the latest.
I have searched the Windows help files and have run the suggested Fixit program that reported the WPD file system volume driver has a problem. but NOT Fixed and that Hardware changes might not have been detected!
I am at a loss to know how to correct this error, since this installation I have suffered many BSOD and programs that report 'XXX has stopped working'.....I need to eliminate the WPD error in case this is the cause.
