Windows 7: Realtek RTL8168B/8111B

Hey,

I'm using windows 7 ultimate RTM 64-bit

Currently in windows update i have the following optional update:

"Microsoft driver update for Realtek RTL8168B/8111B Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)

Download size: 388 KB

Published: 24/5/2009"



I went to the realtek website and found the drivers page for my network card: Realtek

The driver listed on that page was published on 21/7/2009, which driver do I install?

I'd install the one that's more recently dated from the manufacturer directly.

You'll likely see it show up on Windows Update eventually.

There are some cases with a new OS where you actually can only get the latest drivers via the OS / Windows Update directly, but you'll usually find the more recent stuff direct at the manufacturer.
