    What is a "SM Bus Controller"? Missing driver part of the Chipset drv?


    After having installed a new Win7 the Device Manager tells me that the "SM Bus Controller" driver is missing.

    What is the purpose of this SM Bus Controller?

    Is the driver part of the Chipset (for LGA 1155 boards with Intel H67 Chipset) driver package?

    Having just done the same thing I would be tempted to visit the Mobo's site and D/L the latest drivers for your OS.

    SM Bus - System Management Bus. This is part of the chipset, and, as such, controller and driver issues for it are resolved by installing (or updating) your motherboard chipset drivers.

    Since you haven't given any information about the make/model number of your motherboard (other than it's an LGA 1155 with an Intel H67 chipset), I can't give any specific downloads from the manufacturer.
