    they wont install for me says driver files are in use by another process... no av running nothing that would hold it what gives?

    You may need to uninstall the old drivers first or try a reboot and see if the files aren't used anymore.

    I use this method to install the Realtek audio driver. This is from Vista, but the same method works in W7 as well.

    I've just installed the latest Realtek audio drivers and they just installed straight over the original ones. No uninstalling needed

    Also, it took me 2 hours to download a 34MB file!!! What up with that?

    Let me check on the speed...I'm using my Asus Xonar so I havn't needed to try these but my onboard is realtek.

    Oh man your right..it is pretty slow, it's going to take me 15 minutes with cable connection. I hope they work good after waiting that long. I picked the express server of course but I don't know if that made a difference

    Next time you do that, make sure you click on that express link where you confirm a password.

    Seemed pretty slow for me also for just a driver. I guess that is just how realtek rolls. If the drivers helped don't forget to rep.

    just an fyi for you guys i had to disable system restore reboot then it allowed me to install them without the file in use error. After i installed them i turned sys restore back on.... weird.
