    rscinc,

I tried following your instructions step by step, but I cannot get the driver I downloaded from the Zebra site to run. The error message I get says that I have to determine whether I'm running 32 or 64 bit (even though Zebra says it will work with both). Anyway, I can't go any further than this. I tried messing with the compatibility, but can't find a setting that will work, either.

How did you get the driver to run?

    Thanks!

    OK, I got it.

Instead of downloading the driver from Zebra, I chose the "add a printer" option. If you refresh the printer options, you'll get the ZD options at the bottom, and can install the driver from there.

And yes, changing the name of the printer is the trick.

Like the other guy's, my labels printed twice... but I'll figure that out :)

    Thanks so much!

Hi there, I just registered to give you guys another way of doing it (since I was in the same boat). I have the Zebra LP2844, and built myself a new work computer with win7 x64, low and behold, what didn't work? printing labels in my obscure freight program (AxiaFrakt, for those wondering) using the said printer. Well after reading this thread I wasn't even near a solution. So what did I do to make it work?
1: Uninstalled everything that concerned the printer (both in programs & features and in print management under administrative tools)
2: Downloaded the new version of "Zebra setup utilities" dated 20 may 2009.
3: Unplugged the printer, pulled out power cord.
4: started installation process (still everything unplugged) when the program reached the end, it asked if i wanted to let the program install all drivers, or if i wanted to install them manually (manual install is the option available if the printer is connected when you start the installment....dont do this!!)
5: Connected the label printer to the computer and power.
6: Let win 7 do its work and press finish.
7: Hopefully, now it all works as a charm.

This is what worked for me on my computer, now I get labels with imported logos and all with no hick ups, hopefully, if the previous fixes did not work for you, maybe this one will. And sorry for any typos, I'm Norwegian so I hope I am excused :)

    Hi

The problem with Windows 7 and Zebra is they have not yet released new drivers that are compatible with Windows 7. To make your printer work with Windows 7 you will need to install new printer drivers.

Zebra is recommending Nicelabel Drivers - Click here to find instructions and download nice drivers for Zebra and Windows 7

    Help needed

I am successfully using a Zebra LP 2844 with Windows 7. I had quite a difficult time installing it, but it's done.

Go to Zebra's website, and download the newest software/drivers (Setup Utilities).

Disconnect the printer from computer before install. You will have to manually select the correct USB port the printer is connected to. If you chose the wrong port during the install, go into your Control Panel -> Devices & Printers and right click on the Zebra printer. Click Printer Properties -> Ports (Tab) and select the next USB port. Hit Apply, and then go back to the General Tab -> Click Print Test Page until you successfully print the test page.

I am using a USB -> Parallel adapter and I have heard people having issues with using the USB cables for Vista/7.

I've been trying to install my zp 450 for 2 days but no luck.
Can you please send me some information how to do?

    Thanks in advance

To add to the complication, I am trying to use the 2844 on Win7, as an XP shared printer. Don't know even where to start...?

    Zebra as windows share

Just install the printer to LPT1:, then using the properties change the port to a manually added new port with your shared printer, i.e \\computer\shared_printer
