ATI Radeon IGP - Sony Vaio PCG-K415B

    Good Day All.

I don't know if this post should be in the Drivers or the Video Card section.

    I own a Sony Vaio PCG-K415B laptop.

I would like to know if anyone knows if windows 7 fully supports the old ATI Radeon IGP video card, or if there is any drivers out there for it.

I know this laptop is quite old and as such Sony & ATI have lost intrest in there products.

I have upgraded my laptop as far as I can take it.

    Intel D 3.06Ghz upgraded to Intel P4 3.06Ghz.
    512Mb to 2048Mb Ram.
    40Gb to 250gb HDD.

It it still stuck running windows XP SP3.

    Thanks for your time.

    Best Regards.

I could solve this on my HP Compaq nx9010 with IGP 345M (RS200M). Started the setup of the official XP driver, that extracted to c:\drivers\sw... and told me afterwards it cannot be installed. Now I went to device manager, chose update driver, search myself, pointed him to the c:\drivers\sw.. where the extracted files were and Win7 installed the XP driver.

System performance value of 2D graphics increased from 1.0 to incredible 1.9 and 3D performance stayed at 1.0 but the driver works. DVD playback works with this XP driver despite of a stuttering sound but this an audio issue.

The Sony Vaio PCG-K415B also uses the ATI IGP Radeon 345M.

The laptop is still running windows XP.
The drivers that sony supply for the video card are dated 25/08/2004 version 6.14.10.6476.

I can't find any info on ATI's regarding the ATI IGP Radeon 345M, I would idealy like to know what the last version of the driver was.

    Thanks for your time.

My driver is older than yours:
    dated 15.05.2004, version 6.14.10.6436

I think we cannot hope for something newer than the last XP drivers from the notebook manufacturers.
