HP Deskjet 682c driver for Windows 7

I know this printer is not supported by Windows 7, but is there not a basic print driver that will work with Windows 7 Home 64-bit?

    Hi.

    I found something,click this http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/softwa...-1/dj502en.exe.

Download it,run\extract,click disk1\nt4,click on the hpfsplsh,Install HP Deskjet.

You can try also to run the setup in compatibility mode (view attachment).

Give it a try and post back with results.

It keeps telling me "This version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you are running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32 bit) or x64 (64 bit) version of the program." I am running Win7 Home 64-bit, so maybe that is the problem...I need a 64 bit driver. Is there anything I can do to just get basic printing like a generic 64-bit print driver?

I tried compatibility mode for several other OS: XP SP2, XP SP3 and Vista. They all gave me the same "This version of this file is not compatible..." Maybe it is because I am running Win7 Home 64-bit. Thought I read that Win7 Home compatibility mode does not work as well as the higher end Win7 OS.

I got it to install, but the printer is networked, guess I need to hook the printer to this computer to get it to work and then I can use it networked. Does that sound right to you?

    Yes,hook\connect "normaly" the printer,turn on the printer,install the software\driver,restart,finish installation\function.

And remember to try both normal and compatibility mode installation.

I tried to install the drivers and any way that I try it stops responding at Updating configuration at 25% every time. I have tried compatibility mode for 98/Me, Win XP and Vista...they all stop responding at the same place.
