Canon A 40 Powershot and Benq flatbed scanner drivers for Windows 7 64

I'm looking for drivers for Windows 7 for the Canon Powershot A40 camera and for a Benq flatbed scanner. The camera contains precious pics and it would be a pity not being able to download them. Any suggestions?

You don't need drivers for the Canon Powershot...all you need is the cable that came with the camera. Just plug in the camera to a USB port and use Windows photo viewer; or get an inexpensive card reader. Remove the card from the Powershot and place in card reader.

All you need to do is drag the photos to your computer.

VueScan Scanner Software for Windows 7, Mac OS X Lion, Linux, iPhone, iPad, iPod has VueScan software, a universal driver. I've never used it but it's free to try. See if it works.

    Hi flip53, welcome to 7F! :)

Ambimom is correct about the camera, and you might also be able to do that with the scanner, but scanners, printers, etc. usually like their own software.

I'd say plug the camera in with the cable provided, turn it on.
Then open Explorer, and see if it is recognized below your HDD in the left column. Camera's can be hot swapped.

With the scanner shut down your machine, plug in the scanner, then re-start your machine, and see if W7 recognizes it.
Most scanners, printers, etc. are done this way.

Here is a list of: BenQ Europe - Downloads
If you need it, and one of them matches yours.

Thanks Ambimom and Anak for the suggestions.
However, the camera is not recognised as an external drive.
And the scanner is not recognised either. The answer of Benq technical support is: We don't do scanners anymore for a long time. So no updates.
The Vuex programm I can't test and $40 for a programm that may work (or not) is more than the price of new one.
So I'll buy a card reader and maybe later a scanner.
    Thanx Flip53
