Can't load windows 7

Hello

I'm stuck typing this message on my phone cause I can't get into my pc.
Whenever I try to get into windows, it says \Windoes\system32\drivers\ksecpkg.sys is either missing or corrupt. I'm VERY. Careful with my online activities, (I.e. YouTube and iTunes) and only play online video games. I'm not computer savvy at all, and everyone says just to reinstall windows, but my pc was bought with windows already on it and I don't have a disc for it. So how could this have happened, and how can it be fixed?? Please help!!

Welcome aboard

At first, try SFC /SCANNOW : Run in Command Prompt at Boot and let us know the result .

Also please post a snapshot of your hard drive. In case it is necessary to reinstall then there might be a recovery partition on it. Please fill up your system specs. Is yours a Desktop or Laptop?

If it is a Laptop then the Product Key would be stuck to its base. If a Desktop, have you got the Product Key tucked away safely somewhere? As a last resort you can download an iso image of your version of Windows 7 from Download Windows 7 ISO (Official 32-bit and 64-bit Direct Download Links) My Digital Life and phone up Microsoft for activation after installation.

All this may only be necessary if following the advise rendered by Arc above does not succeed.

Good luck to you and welcome to the Seven Forums.

We had a similar problem. What I did was reinstall Vista, downloaded ALL available updates, then unplugged EVERYTHING (except mouse, keyboard, and monitor) and then did an upgrade. That is basically a complete reinstall anyways. And, It was a successful install of Win7 anyways.

Hey guys, thnx for the welcome and the input. I went ahead and partitioned my pc (its a desktop, btw), and windows booted up normally with no problem, which is awesome. However, now my bios screen is telling me that BOTH my C and D drives are bad and need to be backed up and replaced... I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the corrupt drives caused the windows error. I'm gonna go buy a new desktop. I was due for an upgrade anyway... But your feedback was very quick and pinpointed exactly what I needed to do. I appreciate the help and I'll definitely be coming back with any future questions I have.

Thanx again
