Windows 7: teredo tunneling pseudo interface missing driver or not available

For all those people out there who are missing this interface on there Windows 7 computer there is a solution, but you might not like the way it needs to be fixed.

"What is teredo tunneling pseudo interface?", this interface is built in the operating system as well as the drivers for this device, it allows a secure connection to another computer using IPv6 protocol. It is also used for connecting to a network securely.

If you uninstalled by accident or you don't see it in device manager under show hidden devices, then you have lost this capability.

If you want to fix this then list your post ok

by the way i did fix this problem on my brothers computer, via registry editor. Careful while using the registry editor, if not then you might damage operating system.

Easy way to intergrate these registry items to your registry via Notepad, copy and paste the whole section to a new notepad document, save it to your desktop. Then modify the extention from .txt to .reg. double click the file and all items should enter your registry, if you recieve an error ignore it, ok.

After you enter these items to your registry use these commands:

1. Open command prompt with administrator credentials (Find CMD and right-click - Run as Administrator).
2. Enter netsh environment. Type "netsh" and ENTER.
3. "int teredo" and ENTER
4. "set state disabled" and ENTER.

6. Open command prompt with administrator credentials once again.
7. netsh + ENTER.
8. "int ipv6" + ENTER
9. "set teredo client" + ENTER

when this is done re-boot your machine, go to device manager, show hidden devices, network adapters and teredo tunneling pseudo interface should be present.

Very interesting solution, rsedgarroman; but unfortunately it doesn't work at my end. I followed your insturctions and even though an error msg pops up, the data gets entered (I checked).
Yet the problem persists; still no Teredo tunneling pseudo interface (I was so foolish as to uninstall it; and now it's gone no matter what I do).
Any further suggestions?

well if you do not want to lose information on your computer then put the original windows 7 disc and run the upgrade option and re-install the operating system with the original build. you might have to type the product key again and activate.

Another right click on computer icon and click manage, device manager, top menu click action, add legacy hardware, install hardware manually, click on network adapters choose microsoft, search for microsoft teredo tunneling adapter. install it and try my method previous mentioned.
Let me know how it goes.
Make sure in device manager you choose the option to show all devices, and then click on network adapters to see if teredo adapter is present.

Yes, that's an option.

But fortunately I remembered just in in time that I had a restore point in form of a backup of the registry which I had done manually last week. So a loss of one week's worth of progress in the continuous improvement of my Win 7 installation but that's bearable.
