    Can you check if you can see the sd drive in My Computer in windows safe mode? I have a similar issue with the card reader on my dell monitor where can only see the drives in safe mode even though there are no issues in device manager

    Nope (in neither Safe nor Safe+Networking). Closest I've got is using DriverMax which has made a Ricoh SD adapter appear in device manager, when I insert an SD card then search for hardware changes it comes up with the Windows is installing new devices, which then fails.
