Hi ive got windows 7 ultimate.
Ive been trying to install my wireless drivers, when you run them form CD everything seems fine and says installed, but when it says connect your usb device it starts to instal the intantly stops and says driver not installed..
Right click on it in device manager. Browse. Let me pick. Have disk. Browse. Now find the .inf and double click on it. Hit ok so it installs.
You might have to extract from the .exe driver installer first if that's what you have.
Have the same exact wireless usb as jmascarell, and also did the suggestion that you've given above. But still showing as an error.
Is it 32 or 64 bit version?
Did u donwloaed a new driver from Belkin?

I am using 64 bit. I already downloaded the new version (but then again there's no Windows 7 driver is provided by belkin) they only give vista 64
found a solution which i just did and it works!!
To start, you need to uninstall anything you tried to install for this Belkin Adapter. If you run the setup with the driver already on your computer it should force you to uninstall it before you continue with the steps below. Once you have it uninstalled follow these steps:
If you have the CD that came with the router go to Computer --> Right Click on CD --> Click Open. Find the setup file and right click on it, then click Troubleshoot Compatibility. Go through the steps basically saying the program does not work now but it used to work in Windows Vista (I just selected the first Vista option, not Service Pack 1 or 2).
Then click run this program with these settings (or whatever the specific options is) and it should work.
If you don't have the CD, go to Belkin : Support : F5D8055 Wireless N+ USB Adapter - Driver and download the driver you need. Locate the file and right click on it, then click Troubleshoot Compatibility. Go through the steps basically saying the program does not work now but it used to work in Windows Vista.

Ok, having the same issue with Win7, Belkin F5D8055 (version one and version 2) and Gigabyte P55-UD5 board (and also a Gigabyte P55A-UD3P board).
Two test systems are:
System A
Intel Core i7 860 CPU
Gigabyte P55A-UD3P or Gigabyte P55-UD5 (tested both in the same rig)
G.skill 2 x 2GB Ripjaws in slots 1 and 3
Gainward Gold series GTX260 graphics card
22" V7 LCD DVI monitor
2 x WD 320GB on sata2 ports 0 and 1
Asus DRW-2014-L1T sata dvd burner
ritmo Internal USB card reader
System B
Identical to System A, except the motherboard is an Asus P55D-Pro.
ON SYSTEM A:
Using the CD or downloading drivers for the Belkin USB wireless N dongle, when you do the install (even using compatibility options) it just sits at the "Please insert the USB dongle" dialog box and windows7 fails to find/finalise the driver installation. You end up having to pull the dongle out just to reboot.
Now I have used both version 1 and version 2 belkin dongles on SYSTEM B (where the only difference is the motherboard is an Asus P55D-Pro) with no issue. Drivers install fine, Windows7 discovers, installs and finalises the drivers, and the dongles work flawlessly.
What are Gigabyte doing differently than Asus?
I'm planning on emailing this to a) belkin and b) gigabyte and then if I get replies, posting them here, and also forwarding them on to the other vendor (ie gigabyte reply to belkin, belkin reply to gigabyte).

How to get your Belkin Wireless N USB adapter to function with Windows 7 64 bit:
Belkin F5D8053 Ver 3000tt is what I have, and no 7 drivers on their web site.
Whilst on Belkin's Canadian site, looking for a driver that might work, I decided to change the country to Australia and behold, a newer version Vista 64 driver install program ( Running this newer install also did not work, however, in the folder C:/program files x86/ Belkin / Vista 64 were drivers that I then copied to an empty USB flash drive (or create a folder anywhere to contain just these driver files).
This did work. Open the Device Manager and update the driver from the flash drive, or the folder that contains the files. The intensely bright, blue directional LED then started to blind me with it's activity. After entering the WPA password it worked like it should have right out of the box. SUCCESS!!
You can now delete the Belkin folder from the Program Files since it is totally useless after you've copied the Vista 64 drivers from it. Be sure to save the driver elsewhere in case you have to reinstall.
How can they sell this stuff with no warning that one will have problems with Windows 7? Network cards, routers and adapters are the number one returned items to the big electronic stores, you'd think they would warn customers after the first hundred or so returns. Gawd.
