For the most part, the Vista drivers will work for you. I am only hedging on the chipset driver, which is, of course, crucial to the proper operation of the remaining drivers.

Go here for the latest mainboard drivers - download from Guru3D.com
You probably wont need to upgrade the chipset drivers as they are installed during installation of the OS, however, there are cases where you may need to with the latest boards.
These drivers will be written for Vista etc, and you may get an OS mismatch when, and if, you install them - do the following if they wont install :
To install a driver OR program in compatibility mode - right click the setup.exe file - click properties - click compatibility - check run in compatibility with vista/xp etc - check run as administrator - leave the rest blank. Start setup.exe and install.
You can update your video driver card and get some purchase to the latest w7 drivers at the above site or go here

Should I download the old drivers or keep the Windows drivers?
I recently upgraded this old Dell M1530 Vista x64 laptop to Windows 8 Enterprise x64. Apparently the sound company for it (Sigmatel) went out of business before Windows 7 was even released and their latest drivers are some ancient Vista drivers. Should I download and install the Sigmatel...
