New system stuck on Generic Non PnP Monitor VGA Graphics Adapter

    Salut!
I just recieved my new pc and unfortunately its not working very well.

System specs(made from components which I chose and I hope everything is compatible):
    Mobo: Asrock 970 Extreme3
CPU: Phenom x4 Phenom 965 BE
    GPU: Asus HD 6870 DirectCU
    RAM: Patriot 4gb 1333mhz
    HDD: WD Cavier Blue 500gb Sata3, 16mb
    PSU: Seasonic S12II-520w Bronze

I`m using a old CRT Monitor 17'' so I had to use the dvi>vga adaptor.
While installing Windows7 Ultimate 64 and after it finished my screen resolution was very low and the colors were burnt.
My screen resolution is stuck on 640x480. Here a few pictures with what I`m dealing with.

I tried to install the latest ati drivers from their official site but because my screen resolution is so low I can`t hit Next. ( I can`t move the window up because it bounces back and keys don`t work)
Also I tried the driver with which the video card came. The installion went fine but after I restarted the system for the settings to be activated after the win7 logo the screen just stays black.

    What could be the problem?
-drivers? I can`t get them right...are there drivers for monitors? I never had to install any on my old configuration. I remember I have somewhere a cd from the monitor but I never used it and I doubt it will work with win7.
-my monitor or the dvi vga adaptor
    -malfunctioning video card
-motherboard bios ( should I make an update?, I checked their update site and all were for cpu)
-New video card+win7= overkill for my 17'' crt monitor?

Can I provide with more info?

P.S: I also tried a old windows xp sp2 32bit and the results are the same.
The CRT monitor is working fine on a sistem with vga output on the video card.

Thank you for taking your time to read this wall of text!

    Welcome to the Seven Forums.

You have to learn to hit the Buttons with the Tab, Arrow, Page up and Page down Keys.

As you don't see the focus when navigating with these keys, you shall have to do it by trial and error. Once the focus comes on the hidden Next Button by trial and Error just press the Enter Key.

It doesn't really matter if you hit Enter without the focus on Next. At worst the application would shut down but you can start it again.

Sometimes you are able to see the Next Button if you unlock the Task Bar and pull it down. So try that first.
