Windows 7: HP Laserjet 1010 Drivers for Win 7 64 Bit

I noticed a number of people looking to install an HP laserjet 1010 under Win 7 64 bit. I installed one under device and printer/add printer/local pinter/Dot 4 and used the driver for HP 3050 PCL5 and it worked fine. I will just have to see how long it works. Hope this helps anyone out there struggling to get one installed.

So I just tried this fix out and it works.
This printer sat on the shelf for a long time unused, because I couldn't see throwing something away that works good except for the lack of a driver. The XP driver had been thrown about as a fix to make it work in Windows-7 64Bit, but there was a long delay between every page printing with that driver. It was painfully slow.

This HP 3050 PCL5 driver works at normal speed and now I have the use of this printer again. Thanks!

Would also like to thank Fulford 6353 for this fix. Like realneil I was very unhappy my HP LJ 1010 did not work with Windows7 and this fix works well. Every so often it fails after printing off the net with Google Chrome, but I just remove the printer and re-install as above. Thanks again!
