Using a wireless usb device that need Atheros drivers.

Problem is that I'm on Windows 7 but it keeps automatically installing drivers from 2008 that are for Vista. I think this is one of the reasons I'm getting BSOD problems..

EDIT: And now it's saying they weren't installed correctly. I'm beyond confused...

Have you looked on the manufacturers web site for drivers? Did the wireless adapter come with an driver/software install CD?

Yeah but the CD was for Windows XP only. I looked on the website and they do have drivers for Windows 7 but when you install them, the date for them is 2008... they work, but I just figured that's where this BSOD probably is coming from.

OK, if you can't find a better driver you may have to buy a better wireless adapter. Or switch to a wired connection and uninstall the wireless adapter.

Is this (Atheros Communications) the correct website to get drivers from Atheros? I tried to get to the downloads page from the Atheros homepage, but I couldn't find a link, so I searched for it on Google. However, I don't entirely trust Google when searching for drivers.

Wireless Atheros Issues
Basically, my problem is that my wireless adapter doesn't work. The adapter is under system specs on my page, Atheros 802.11 a/b/g/n Dualband Wireless Network Module. Device manager says the wireless adapter is working properly, and has the most recent driver. The adapter cannot, however, detect...
