Laptop won't install USB device drivers

Hey guy, I need to copy and paste a file onto a USB stick for my PS3 but my laptop won't install the device drivers. It tries but fails every time. In my device manager I have a yellow exclamation mark next to unknown drivers but I cant update it. I don't understand, I have never seen it.

You don't need specialist USB drivers as they are controlled by the chipset drivers.

    Check that these are up-to-date.

It may be a hardware issue so you might want to uninstall your USB devices in device manager then restart and hope that Windows detects them.

Hi TWardy, have a look here HP Pavilion dv7-1000 Entertainment Notebook PC series - Download drivers and software - specify product name - HP Business Support Center select your model laptop and download the chipset drivers these control the USB ports , Updating through windows (by right clicking on the yellow exclaimation mark and selecting "update driver" ) is not the same as "windows update "
