Hi, new user here with a problem that I haven't been able to come across any help for. (every Google search came up with fixes for Windows XP... I'm using Windows 7 Home 64-bit)
I have two USB flashdrives from Nexxtech - one is 4GB and the other is 8GB. I used the 4GB primarily with my father's laptop, on account of just moving in a new house and not unpacking my desktop computer yet. When I got to setting up my rig, I plugged in my 4GB drive only to find that Windows couldn't install its device driver
. 'Driver Not Found' was the specific message it threw up. I tried every USB port, and still nothing.
I bought the 8GB flashdrive today thinking that maybe the 4GB was damaged somehow... and yet the same problem persists.
'USB 2.0 FD' is the new 8GB drive, and 'USB Flash Disk' is the 4GB. I find it strange how Device Manager correctly recognizes what my hardware is, but cannot load its drivers
for whatever reason. Using Windows Update to find a driver as per suggested did nothing. (no surprise there)
It should be worth mentioning that I have an older 4GB Sandisk U3 Cruzer Micro that works flawlessly with this computer, along with several other USB devices. Are some of my drivers corrupted? Help would be greatly appreciated.
