Driver/Device Manager Problem after re-installing Windows 7

Hi,

Today I reinstalled Windows 7 on my Novatech nSpire Pro 2430 because it was sluggish and I wanted to have a clean slate.

I, however, now can not connect to the internet. Device manager isn't showing my Network Card, or even my graphics card for that matter (GEFORCE GT540M). I've tried using Speccy to find it, but no luck.

Also, when I've tried to install the nvidia driver for my card, it says that I need to install some Intel Drivers and can't get onto the Intel website on the laptop to find out what driver it needs.

Any help?

Thanks, Will

Its always advisable that before doing a clean install, you need to collect all the drivers for your laptop.
You can find all the drivers from your manufacture's site. At this point go to an internet center or to your friend's house and download all the drivers. http://www.rapidenumerique.frhttp://www.rapidesaisie.fr : http://www.saisiededonnees-idf.frhttp://www.saisiededocuments-idf.fr

Yeah, it was a silly mistake on my part. Thanks for the reply.

I have emailed Novatech to ask for the basic drivers the laptop needs, but as its Jubilee weekend I don't expect a reply until Tuesday/Wednesday.

I do have the drivers still stored on Windows.old (System32/DriverStore/FileRepository) but it Windows wont let me straight Copy/Paste them into my new DriverStore... or am I being a bit stupid here a well?

Kindly fill in your System Specs to the extent you can. It helps us in solving problems.

Are you connected by WiFi or Ethernet? Normally you should be able to find the Driver in the Installation Package that you got when you purchased the Machine. Have you searched for it over there?

If it is not there then do as pra40 has suggested and download at least the driver for your Network to get connected. The rest of the drivers you can download on your computer after you are connected to the Net.

No copying is needed, just click Update driver software option for each device needing drivers, and then choose the lower button, Browse my computer for drivers software, and then browse to your old FileRepository. It will find the driver for each of your devices and install it. The Nvidia driver though should be installed using the Nvidia provided installation package, do that last.

Have you tried something like belarc advisor or everest home edition to find out the model numbers so you can google them and download the drivers?

I think you will need to install the chipset driver which also includes the ethernet driver on Nvidvia chipsets and graphics card driver if not installed.

Novatech's website support you should be able to download all drivers for your hardware installing chipset first. Any exclamation marks or question marks in device manager means that the driver needs installing for that piece of hardware.
