Cannot find a driver for Radeon HD 5450

Have a VTX Radeon HD5450 silent GPU and I cannot find the driver from either the VTX or AMD sites. The download which half an hour from VTX was in Latvian (no insult intended) or some such language and included a heap of Microsoft stuff.

The AMD site doesn't throw one up when I click on the HD 5450 download am at a loss as what to do!

"This product installs automatically without extra software" is what brings you to the MS page regarding that model. Windows 7 Compatibility for ATI Radeon HD 5450 Graphics Card: ATI. Drivers, Updates, Downloads

Apparently 7 already has drivers for the card. You may want to look in the Device Manager under Display adapters and see if it shows ATI and the model there as well as right click on that for the driver details. The AMD/ATI download page for that line of cards is seen at http://www.amd.com/us/products/deskt...verview.aspx#4

    and AMD Catalyst

Just get it directly from AMD,

    ATI Catalyst

Or if you want the latest,

    AMD Catalyst

Doesn't matter who made the card as all AMD drivers come from AMD, and most of the card makers actually just link back to AMD for the download.

Hiyya Hanna yep my friend I tried AMD and VTX - I had some much trouble with the catalyst centre the last time I had it on the machine I got rid of it as it was more trouble than it was worth.

So I am going to bin the car and try out Nvidia for a change when I get around to it.

Did you try the other links for drivers only? Just through the Windows Updates alone you should be seeing the latest driver set when the present drivers/Cat. are removed.

Hum well I was going to go through Device Manager but problem was I got no video at all when I had the card plugged in mobo or card. Maybe the card is DOA?

"Gigabyte H67 UD3H" is in your specs.
If I'm not mistaken, that motherboard has onboard graphics.
You can go into the BIOS and configure or disable the onboard graphics.
You may want to change the settings to use only the discrete card, if it isn't configured that way, already.

AMD seems to have eliminated the download individual drivers option on it's website, which makes sense,
as the user can choose to customize the installation with the installer. You can choose to install the driver only.

No sorry Sardonicus now I should have said that this problem is with my tester machine - I have about five on the go and couldn't list them all.

The build is a custom one - the machine I picked up for nothing less the drive and a it has such a good Processor - Q7450 and DDR2 RAM 4GB and the board is an Intel DG43NB on this one that I use it instead of my old tester. Sorry again for being such an ass but its this machine that has the problem.

If you are not seeing anything under Display adapters in the DM that shows the devicer driver(s) needed are not fully installed. You may have only seen a partial install where the drivers were never made active.

I've run into this at times on sound and other expansion cards as well where sometimes you have to fight with uninstall, reinstall, uninstall again like an old 12" vinyl record caught in a loop! Then finally you see Windows prompting "device drivers sucessfully installed" and the item shows ups.

Generally running AMD/ATI cards here the Catalyst always gets them on without a hassle. A few problem versions of the Cat. like the old 7.9 were a hassle since that came on the cd with a card for the old case. Sometimes one version back is better then the latest.

Sardonicus is correct about the option for Drivers only or a full Catalyst/driver install option if not finding a separate drivers only. Believe it or not I still ahve the Cat. 10-4 on since certain older programs are too hard coded for the newer.
