    Driver Install Problem

    Hello,

Running the 64 bit vers. of W7.

Have a program that installs the main application in the normal Program Files(x86), and the Driver for the program in System32\Drivers.

All seems normal, and everything seems to be where it should be.
Very confident that the Driver is O.K., and not corrupted.

But the program won't run, and a msg comes up saying the Driver did not install correctly.

Certainly seems like a Driver not installing correctly problem.

Virus protection is Off for the install.
Have tried new installs several times, after removing all the old installs and the Driver from System32/Drivers Folder.

So, rather than get into all the nitty-gritty right now, let me ask a general question or two, please, as I know very little re Drivers:

-What are the primary reasons that a Driver may not "install" correctly ?
(even if it "looks" like it did)

-How would I check out what the install problem might be ?

-How to fix, and/or install it correctly ?

    -etc.

    Thanks,
    Bob

The driver may not be compatible with Windows 7. To make it work, try right clicking on its setup file and select troubleshoot compatibility. When it asks what operating system did it work on before, select Windows Vista Service Pack 2.
